For generations, Il Progressso was the largest second language newspaper in the United Sates. Millions of Italian Americans kept up with the Italian perspective in America by reading the daily paper. So many Italian Americans have the fond memory of their grandfather smoking a Di Nobli cigar, drinking home made wine, and reading the Il Progresso!
Time have changed, of course and today we have a new version of the Il Progresso. It is online, in English, and will from time to time print special editions. But the theme will remain the same....giving Italian Americans a perspective on what is happening in America and Italy and how it affects them as Italian Americans.
And- it will also highlight Italian American artists, writers, chefs, politicians, athletes, and the like so that we can remain proud to be Italian Americans in the21st Century!
